Every year, TVCCA teams up with our friends at Hall Communications and WCTY 97.7 FM to collect food for the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center and to raise funds that provide emergency assistance for struggling families through TVCCA.

This year, your donation to the WCTY/TVCCA Food & Fund Drive is more important than ever!

In normal times, these resources serve as a hand-up to clients facing urgent financial difficulties for which no other funding is available. Examples of client needs met through TVCCA's emergency assistance fund include rent or security deposit shortfalls, utility arrearages, unexpected car repairs, medical equipment, etc. But we are far from normal times: since mid-March, the economic collapse triggered by COVID-19 has wiped out the jobs of 25,000+ New London County residents, and calls to TVCCA Community Services from people looking for help have more than tripled.

We are looking ahead to what will, no doubt, be a difficult winter and holiday season for many families in our region. But we have hope that the strength of our community will come together to lighten the burden on those who have been so dramatically impacted by the current crisis.
